Coast Guard Search and Rescue
The Irish Coast Guard Search and Rescue bases two Sikorsky rescue helicopters in a purpose built hangar at the airport flying regular training missions and vital rescue missions. Rescue cover is provided for the main ferry routes into Rosslare and for the fishing grounds off the South and East coasts; as well as the large volume of commercial traffic transiting off the south coast. It is regarded as an essential service by local fishermen working out of Dunmore East and by all sea and air users passing through, including leisure boat-users. CHC, the Coast Guard’s operating company, now service their aircraft in Waterford and also use it as a training facility.

Pilot Training College
The Pilot Training College of Ireland Limited is a JAR Flight Training Organisation approved by the Irish Aviation Authority for the purpose of carrying out Commercial Pilot Training. The college operates a range of aeroplanes – single and multi-engine – suitable for the training courses offered. Training is undertaken amidst a mixture of training and commercial flight operations allowing future pilots to be fully prepared to operate into and out of any airfield, whether a small training field or a larger commercial airport.

International Academy of Travel
The International Academy of Travel was established in 1992 and has a proven track record in training candidates for working within the airline and travel industry. Candidates can choose a career in any aspect of the Travel Industry including Cabin Crew, Ground Operations, Reservation Sales, Travel Consultant, Tour Operators and Overseas Representatives. The academy’s courses are available either from their Airport based Training Centre; through a network of Third Level College partners or through distance learning.
