Airport announces new appointments

Waterford Airport has recently appointed seventeen new operations and customer services staff.  The extra staff members have been appointed to handle the increased numbers of customers flying from the airport, arising from the airport’s longer opening hours, and from the recently announced new destinations from Waterford.

Most of the staff members appointed are from the local area, but the developing airport has succeeded in attracting people from as far away as Northern Ireland, Manchester, and Australia. Similarly, the new staff members have a variety of experience, with a number coming from backgrounds in aviation, customer services and travel.

The new staff will be working in the areas of customer services and operations. The customer services staff are at the forefront in helping passengers flying from and to Waterford. The operations staff work mainly behind the scenes, in areas such as ground handling, security, and rescue fire-fighting. The operations staff undergo intensive training to enable them to fulfil all these different elements of their jobs.

“I extend a very warm welcome to all the new members of staff who are joining us,” said Graham Doyle, Chief Executive of Waterford Airport. “The extra members of staff ensure that we can continue to provide the best possible service for all our customers as the airport grows and develops.”
